Challenge seeking is my passion – finding new adventures and new challenges to train for and throw myself into are how I focus and how I love to spend my free time. But there’s more to it.
The crazier the challenge, the more I can raise money for Macmillan who were incredible in their care of my sister Tracy, who sadly passed away in August 2015.
I’ve used training and completing various challenges over the last few of years for my own mental and physical health, to overcome grief and various other challenges. But I’ve also used the message they send of not quitting in the face of adversity to inspire others to do the same.
During 2018 I will be supporting my Dad to complete the Deloitte Ride Across Britain in Tracy’s memory and in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The journey will see us cycling 969 miles in 9 days and Dad will go from zero to cyclist in the space of a year. The training and challenge will have its ups and downs but we will get through it together and with the support of your donations: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/KatAndAlecRideAcrossBritain
